about

Sloppy Folk started as a collaboration between Shaun Richards and Michael Way in the dirty streets of Jozi. Both being without bands or cash, but having some songs they had written on Acoustic guitar. Thus "THE SLOPPY FOLK" was born.

This was put together for "Just Plain Awful Records" and is a best of the first 3 recording sessions plus 2 new song.

All songs were recorded live into a microphone using a single track recording program.

Sorry about the sound quality.

released January 1, 2010

All these songs were recorded somewhere towards the end of 2009 in Rosettenville, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Track Name: How Can We Fix The World
decide our actions with the best intentions
torn between all these scars
love each other with our bad reactions
and voices screaming
this is for the ones we love
the ones we wish to hold
and regrettably push away

well it's all over now
drop me in the feeding grounds
i'm fucking up in every way

how can we fix the world
when we can't even fix ourselves...

i can't accept this
this isn't what i want to do
is this what it all comes down to
feeling helpless
i'll sell my shit
i'll buy more beer
can i get another
cheers

well it's all over now
drop me in the feeding grounds
i'm fucking up and it's not ok

how can we fix the world
when we can't even fix ourselves...

and how fragile are our hearts
we tear them apart
